Using my individual research and my research paper, I have been able to better understand the different pathways I have for when I leave college. These include University and Apprenticeships as well as defining what specific role in the industry I would like to be; a screen/scriptwriter. 

Researching Universities has helped me in preparing and applying for them in the future. I went in depth about 4 separate universities, Buckinghamshire New University, University of Reading, University of Bedfordshire and Royal Holloway, who all conduct courses in Film and Television Production or very similar. I viewed how the courses are presented and what consists of said courses, as well as opinions from past students about the course or the university as a whole. Afterwards, I gathered the information into a paper and weighed the pros, cons and reasons for each. As these specific courses intrigue me greatly, being able to find out more details about them helps me prepare and find which university may be more suited to me in the future (if i choose to go). Understanding the content within the courses helps me to further decide whether it may help me achieve my goals in the future.

Additionally, I also researched into the career pathway that I would most like to be in the future; that of a Screenwriter. I looked into the basics as in what they do and the skills that someone would need to possess if they wanted to enter that sector of the industry. I also gathered information on real life examples through interviews and online videos. These examples are from Stephan Davis via The Guardian and Edgar Wright through ‘Outstanding Screenplay’ on YouTube. As Edgar Wright is one of, if not my favourite writer/director, listening to what he had to say about screenwriting and how he does it benefits me massively. Almost all of his ‘tips’ are something that I haven’t used or done prior to seeing the video and allows me to take his advice and implement it into work of my own in the future.
