Academic Algebra II is designed to be a class that challenges our students. Topics covered will include multiple representations (graphical, numerical, algebraic and verbal) of elementary functions such as linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, absolute value, exponential, and logarithmic functions; linear systems and matrices; extension of the number system to a complex field; probability and counting techniques; and sequences and series. Students should leave this course with an understanding of the behaviors and connections between numerous types of functions and thus will be prepared
for Pre-Calculus. We will be using Algebra 2 Connections, a text published by CPM, in this course. Students will become proficient with the TI-84 graphing calculator - a tool that will be used throughout their high school studies. Reading and problem solving are emphasized throughout the course as a means to developing precise mathematical vocabulary and reasoning skills.
Use Google Classroom to find important documents for each chapter. These documents may include notes, answer keys, reviews, review keys, and tutorial videos.
