Basketball Season Preview
Get ready to ignite the courts and stoke the flames of basketball fever, because the Stuart Hall Dragons are gearing up for a season that promises to be nothing short of electrifying! After weeks of anticipation, long practices, and extensive tryouts, Stuart Hall’s very own team is ready to show off that flaming Dragon power. Although they’re a team and always play together, each player brings their unique talents and personality to the squad making it truly exceptional. Therefore, the Stuart Hall Spectator is proud to present our school’s spectacular basketball team for 2023/24 season. Let's take a closer look at the stars who will be lighting up the court and leaving their mark on every game!
Stuart Hall 23/24 basketball team:
Tafari Plummer (12) - 6'2 guard and team captain from Queens, NY. This is his second year at Stuart Hall. In his time here, he's averaged 24 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals per game as a junior. He Enjoys football and fashion in his spare time. His favorite athlete is LeBron James, NBA YoungBoy is his favorite artist, and Kevin Hart is his favorite actor. Tafari would like to own his own physical therapy and athlete training facility in the future.
Thomas Nguemaleu (12) - 6'5 forward from Montpellier South of France. This year is his first year at Stuart Hall. He averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game as a junior. His favorite basketball player is Chris Paul.
Jackson Hines (12) - 6'3 forward born in Georgia. He has spent 12 years at Stuart Hall, playing basketball for 5 of those years, which makes him a great asset to the team. His junior year he averaged 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. In his free time he is either hanging out with his friends or in the gym playing basketball.
Antonis Kalavros (12) - 5‘11 guard from Athens, Greece. He has one sister. Vassilis Spanoulis is his favorite athlete and Wang is his favorite musician. This summer he participated in a workout session with the LA Lakers small forward Rui Hachimura and Assistant Coach Phil Handy, which was a very unique and educational experience for him.
Colton Garris (12) - 6'1 guard from Staunton, VA. This year is his 13th year at Stuart Hall. He has one sibling, and he loves watching football and basketball. Usually, he spends his free time playing NBA 2K and Rainbow 6 Siege. Drake is his favorite artist. Colton is still undecided about what he wants to pursue after graduating from Stuart Hall.
Enzo Ruberwa (11) - 6'3 guard from Kigali, Rwanda and Nairobi, Kenya. This year is his first year at Stuart Hall. He deeply enjoys listening to music and watching various sports such as soccer, basketball, and boxing. This year he was also the soccer team captain.
Malachi Payne (11) 6'8 forward from London, England. Aside from Basketball, Malachi has many aspirations - one of which is to become a software developer, as he hopes to Major in Computer Science at College. His favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. He is truly inspired by their respect for the game of basketball.
Ethan Baiotto (11) - 6 ‘4 team member. He loves playing basketball, doing photography, and working on his own music. Ethan’s main goal for the future is to pursue cinematography.
Christian Scott (10) - 5’10 point guard from New York. He has 3 siblings and his family means the world to him. Other than playing basketball professionally, Christian would like to pursue owning a company and a career in sports medicine. His favorite artists are Rod Wave and Drake.
Noah Kabuya (10) - 6'5 forward from Brussels, Belgium. This is his first year at Stuart Hall. He has two siblings. Lebron James is his favorite NBA player, and his favorite artist is Drake. He is very ambitious and describes himself as a hard worker in everyday life.
Aiden Cole (9) - 5‘7 team member from Boston. When he’s not playing basketball he enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. He has one older sibling and deeply enjoys listening to rap music.
Mahad Hoq (9) - 5’7 guard from Fairfield CT and has lived in Staunton, VA for the past two years. He has been attending Stuart Hall since 7th grade. He enjoys playing/listening to music and playing sports in his free time. Kyrie Irving is his favorite athlete and Drake is his favorite artist. Mahad wants to be either a doctor or a lawyer in the future.
Richard Monk (9) - 6’4 center from Churchville, VA. This year is his third year at Stuart Hall. He enjoys video games and fashion in his spare time. Jason Tatum is his favorite athlete, and Trippie Redd is his favorite artist. Richard would like to have a career in basketball, sneaker reselling, or in medicine.
From the opening jump ball to the final buzzer, this team will leave it all on the court, fueled by the unwavering support of their dedicated fans. So, join us as we follow every dribble, pass, and dunk, supporting our team each step of the way. The Dragons' basketball season promises to be one of skill, passion, and sheer determination. Prepare for exhilarating moments, unforgettable plays, and never ending excitement as our team shows off their outstanding talent. Get ready to make some noise because this is a season to remember!
