How did the FACES students feel about their time at STU?
In the past weeks, the Stuart Hall community was grateful to host 6 unique students from Guatemala who truly brought sunshine and positive energy into our day to day life. These students, with their various backgrounds and unique perspectives, not only embraced the ethos of Stuart Hall, but left their mark on the community through their astonishing contributions. From classrooms to extracurricular activities, they became catalysts for cross-cultural understanding and showed the immense importance of fostering diversity in our Community. After saying goodbye to them last year, we truly learned to appreciate all the little things that made their experiences with us unique. In order to keep our Community in touch, the STU Spectator has reached out to some of the students who have shared their touching impressions from their 6 weeks in America, right before they left.

“As my time in this exchange ends, I immerse myself in a sea of mixed emotions. It has been more than a simple experience; it has been a journey that has transformed my perspective and enriched my life in unimaginable ways. This exchange has not only opened my eyes to new cultures, but has also woven indelible bonds of friendship that transcend borders... ...I want to thank all the people who made this exchange the best, thank you the teachers for always keeping an eye on us, my friends, for every laugh and moment lived, I hope to be able to see you at some other time in our lives (hoping you go to Guatemala next year) to continue with every unforgettable moment with all of you... ...Although we are now saying goodbye, we will take with us the memories of this unique chapter. Thank you for making this exchange one of the best experiences of my life; and even if the geographical distance separates us, I will carry with myself the ties and memories that united us over the course of these two months!!!
See you STU,
Daniela Sosa <3”

“First of all, I want to thank the students for making this experience very happy and making this exchange unforgettable. Thanks to the teachers for always guiding us and supporting us in everything we needed, thanks to all those people who shared with us and I also want to thank them for all the experiences that will remain in my memory forever, just like all those beautiful moments we spent together. Although we are all very sad in this farewell I hope it is not the last time we see each other. I have nothing more to say than thanks to this school for creating very nice memories for me.”
As we draw the curtain on the experience of the Guatemalan exchange students at Stuart Hall, their impact is felt far beyond our classrooms. The FACES program has not only expanded horizons but has also shown the power of diversity in shaping an enriching educational experience. The unique spirit and astounding contributions of these students reinforce the value of fostering a global perspective in education. We are extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to meet them!
Hasta luego!
