Spring is the time of rebirth, as it has been thematized endlessly over millennia. Yet, if a pattern seems so enduring, why upset it? After months of preparations, challenges, setbacks, and achievements, this spring we finally stand ready to present the first issue of The Stuart Hall Spectator, or STU Spectator for short. Our mission, visible on the front page at all times, is “[t]o produce a regularly updated newspaper that fosters respectful discussion among all members of the STU community without bias.”
What really is behind these words? In short, instead of just throwing out questions, we want to go after them and give answers from multiple perspectives. We intend to provide a recognizable platform for information and discussion about all things STU-related, with the goal of educating and improving our community. We want to foster a sense of belonging, an atmosphere of positivity, and create more space for conversation. We are the STU Spectator.
