They stared with their eyes and touched my face. They cut up my clothes and messed up my name. They slapped me around like I was a toy.
They didn’t care if I was hurt in any way.
When they walked past me, I stood straight.
Scared of what they would do, if they saw me at this stage. Would they hit or stare?
Maybe even cut my hair.
I tried to help and I tried to prosper.
But at every corner, they were there.
They were there with their faces and their attitude too. Why was I the punching bag for them to feel good? As I ran down the hallway trying to escape.
They would always find me and call me “a forbidden mistake.” I would burn the only love I had left.
Trying to change my ways to be their friendly hand. No matter how hard I tried I was always wrong. For me, a second chance was all I yearned for.
Forgiveness of the past and the way they see me. Who was I in the eyes of the bully?
The desire to be free wilted from my bare hands.
