Mrs. Hermes

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Hermes.  I am happily married to my husband Jacques and we are proud parents of two grown boys, six, beautiful grandchildren and a cat. The grandchildren keep everyone very busy as well as our cat.  We enjoy travel, nature and a variety of family activities.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I graduated from Juniata College in Pennsylvania in 1981 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaching has been my calling!  The children make my day everyday.  This will be my 43rd year in education.  During my career, I have taught between the ages of pre-K 3 year olds and 5th grade. Thirty six of those years were teaching kindergarten. 

Here at Burton Elementary, I have taught four years of pre-k and three years of kindergarten. I am looking forward to my fourth year of kindergarten at Burton Elementary and am very excited to have the opportunity to teach your child!  I will do my best and everything possible to support your child through their educational journey.

Children are very special gifts from God and look to others to learn and grow.  It is my privilege to be one of the many to help them!
