6A: Ms. McMichael

Hello, my science people!! I have posted information below regarding our Virtual Learning Experience.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present hope in trouble." Psalm 46:1

6th, 7th, and 8th graders: please read below and then continue to scroll to find your grade's classwork and assignments. Classwork will be emailed to you every morning AND updated daily in the following places: this webpage, your usual Science Google Classroom (i.e. 8A Science, 8B Science), and my teacher page. Lecture slides can be found in their usual spot: on our science class Google Sites page.

6A Homeroom Students

Enroll in our new 6A Homeroom Google Classroom! Use this code to join: 2eqsr5x

Check our 6A Google Classroom Homeroom daily! This is where I will post updates, morning announcements, morning prayer, and pledge.

Middle School Science Classwork

Daily classwork and assignments will be emailed to you and posted on Google Classroom. Make sure you find your correct Google Classroom (it's your usual science one) and check it every day! Here you will find:

  • Daily Starter Check-in (this is new for us, but important!)

  • Daily classwork and assignments

  • links to online sources

  • Google docs

  • Videos

Expectations for Completing and Submitting Work

Just as in our traditional class, in this Virtual Learning Experience, you are expected to check-in each day, view the posted materials and complete any classwork or assignments. I will post a due date for any assignments that must be turned in. Please pay attention to the due date! All assignments should be submitted on Google Classroom unless I instruct you to share it in another format. I strongly suggest reading through the daily post after working to ensure you have completed (or are on your way to completing) all assigned materials.

Quizzes and Tests

You can expect a 5 question, open-note check-in each week.

Cornell Notes

We are continuing to move forward in our science curriculum. To ensure we are learning the concepts, you will have Cornell notes assigned in this Virtual Learning Experience.

On the due date for notes, you will be asked to provide ONE photo or scanned image (or pdf) of a designated slide. I will share that slide with you on the day notes are due. Your name must be on the top of your note page. It is a random selection, so make sure that all of your assigned notes are complete by the due date.

If you wish to move further ahead in your notes than what is assigned, you're welcome to do so! If you prefer to wait and work on all of your weekly assigned slides towards the end of the week, that's fine too.

Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you have questions about anything, or just want to say "hello," please email me! Feel free to email me outside of those times, too. 8 a.m.-12 p.m. is when you can expect a prompt response, but I will always get back to you as soon as possible.
