Basilica Decorating

Tuesday, December 17 at 6 p.m.

There are over 70 chapels at the Basilica in Washington that need to be decorated for Christmas! For several years now, the Mission Commission has joined in the task, always beginning with the chapel dedicated to Our Lady, Queen of Missions, but then expanding to many more chapels on the lower level. NEW THIS YEAR: Due to the popularity of this activity with area groups, our group must have a limit of 20 participants. Please carpool the children.

Decorating begins at 6:00 p.m. You can begin as soon as you arrive - no stress about arriving "on time" - arrive as peacefully as you can with DC traffic. Everyone meets in the cafeteria on the lower level. Your point of contact there is Father Michael Weston. He may have an assistant, but most often he is walking around meeting the groups with a clipboard and a file folder of our chapels. He can give you instructions, or anyone else who is there before you. I'll get there as soon as I can - as close to 6:00 as I can. Just ask for Father Weston and he can direct you to our assigned chapels and give you general instructions.

Pizza is served when all the work is done. Please give me an idea of how many people to expect so that they have enough pizza! Send me an email at lgott@sttimothyparish.org. Although pizza is served between 9:30 – 10:00, you can leave whenever you need to.

Problems making THE KNOT?

The meeting is held in 8B Classroom. At 4:30, Mrs. Gott will escort members to the front of the school for pick-up.

We meet twice per month, sometimes more if we have a special project, and it is not necessary to attend every meeting to be a member of The Mission Commission. New members can join at any time.

NOTE: Each time we meet, the student is responsible for notifying the office regarding the change in dismissal, via the brown envelope in the a.m. or delivered to the office.

Form is available on the St. Timothy website under "Forms." Without a form submitted, the student cannot attend.

Come see what we're all about!

Anyone in grades 4-8 are welcome.
