Welcome to our STEM (K-4) and Middle School Science classroom (5-8)! Here, we focus on inspiring curiosity and creativity through hands-on experiments and group projects.
Our STEM curriculum combines Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, helping students learn in a fun and engaging way. Students will explore important topics in life science, physical science, and earth science. They will conduct experiments that encourage them to think critically and ask questions. We’ll also use technology, including coding and research, to develop problem-solving skills. Additionally, students will take part in design challenges and engineering projects to solve real-world problems.
In our middle school science classes, we will study ecosystems, the diversity of life, and the principles of matter and energy. We’ll learn about earth science topics like geology and weather to better understand our planet. Each class will also participate in a dissection to give students appreciation of the complexity of organisms in a hands-on learning environment. Our classroom is a supportive place where students can ask questions, share ideas, and work together. We value respect, curiosity, and a positive attitude.

Hello! My name is Abby Herzing, and I’m excited to be in my third year at St. Teresa Catholic School. It’s a special place for me, as I graduated from here in 2015!
I have a passion for teaching and am proud to serve as the K-4 STEM teacher and the 5-8 Science teacher. I believe that curiosity and exploration are essential to learning, and I strive to inspire my students to discover the wonders of science and technology.
In my free time, I love to travel, dive into a good book, and enjoy spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, biking, or simply soaking up nature, I find great joy in exploring the world around us.
