STRYKER ART NEWS:

Check out our cool Polar Bear made for Elementary Right to read week. This polar bear was created by Mrs. Moser and various student helpers. The polar bear was made with heavy branches, wire, paper mache layers and lots of cut triangle patterned papers.

STRYKER ART NEWS:

Thanks to all students participating in the annual Stryker Art show. The high school and junior high artwork was judged by Mrs. Jenny King. Jenny is an Montpelier Art teacher and artist of ceramics and painting in our local area. The following students were awarded:

1st place: Cody Moser "Preying on Heartache" acrylic painting

2nd place: Hannah Tucker " Skin and Bones" mixed medium drawing

3rd place: Caylin Benson " Face Vase" ceramics

Honorable Mention: Trinitie Woolace " Race Day" drawing

Honorable Mention: Breanna Doriot " Basketry Vessel" ceramics

Honorable Mention: Cody Moser " Face Vase" ceramics

The art show took place on May 6th "Arts Day" along with the band and choir concerts.

STRYKER ART NEWS:

Students recently entered artwork to the Black Swamp Arts Council annual High School Art Show hosted by Northwest State Community College. The exhibit will begin Feb 12th and be open the public to view in NWSCC main atrium until Feb. 22. The following students were chosen to exhibit their artwork: Caylin Benson, Breanna Doriot, Anna Heeres, Arik Huffman, Cody Moser, Morgan Rupp, Hannah Tucker, and Trinitie Woolace.

STRYKER ART NEWS:

The 2018 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

In the winter, Stryker Art students were given the opportunity to enter in the Scholastic Art Show within our region. A total of 3,088 artworks were entered and regionally only 827 pieces were awarded for the exhibit. These students were Anna Heeres, Hannah Tucker, Cody Moser and Trinitie Woolace. In total, these four students, submitted 8 works of art and three of the artworks received honorable mention awards. The students were awarded during the award ceremony on Feburary 11 at the University of Saint Francis. These artworks were placed on exhibit at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art for the 2018 high school Scholastic show from Febuary 10-April 8th.
