Principal's Message
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we celebrate another extremely busy week at Strood Academy, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate some truly outstanding achievements and positive news from across the school.
Year 11 and Year 13 Mock Exams: A huge round of applause for our Year 11 and Year 13 students who have commenced their mock exams this week. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and commitment to their studies, and look forward to this continuing throughout the mock period. We will eagerly await the results, which will no doubt reflect their hard work and preparation.
Positive Attendance: We're also thrilled to see continued excellent attendance across all year groups. This strong commitment to learning creates a positive and focused environment for everyone, and we applaud both students and families for prioritising education. At present Strood Academy is currently above the Medway average for attendance, we are especially proud of this. Thank you for your support.
Spanish Exchange Visit: This week, we welcomed a group of students and teachers from school in Spain for a cultural exchange visit. The program has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in another language and culture, and we've enjoyed watching the friendships blossom between our students and their Spanish counterparts.
These are just a few of the highlights from what has been another exceptional week at Strood Academy. We are proud of the positive energy, dedication, and achievements of our students, and we appreciate your continued support in creating a truly vibrant and successful learning environment.
Thank you for your continued support, and have a restful weekend.

Since the new year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups, the assembly protocol and focusing on transitions around the academy building; encouraging students are moving between lessons with pace and purpose and ensuring all students feel safe when moving around the academy
Focusing on combating 'Culture Killers' such as poor uniform standards, litter around the academy, use of foul and inappropriate language and body language within lessons; ensuring all students are presenting as focused and ready to learn
Implementing a standardised homework policy across the academy, where students are aware of the expectations around homework as well as the importance of this
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Improving relations with parents, carers and the local community through information shared social media platforms and in Weekly Parent Bulletins
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings, Year 7 Meet the Form Tutor, Parent Voice Forums and Parental Drop-Ins as well as tools such as 'Request Call Back' button and college-specific email addresses
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way.
