Principal's Message
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
This week has absolutely flown by, with the start of our Year 11 mocks, the introduction of our parent drop in sessions as well many sporting fixtures.
Our Year 11 pupils have completed the first week of their mocks with great maturity, with multiple examinations each day it’s an enduring few weeks for all. A reminder that Year 11 intervention continues as normal throughout the mock period. Mr Fatania continues to issue daily communications to Year 11 parents/carers to ensure every child is best prepared. Year 13 mocks commence on Monday, again a very busy week for all. Attached is some guidance for any pupils struggling with the pressures of exam stress, please do let us know if this is the case. We are here to help.
This week we have launched our parent drop in sessions, these have been extremely popular, and we hope very helpful. We will review these in the new year with feedback from parents/carers to decide if we need to amend or make any improvements. Please find all the information here.
This year our PE department has increased the number of extra curricular activities and fixtures and our pupils have been embracing the chance to compete against other local schools. Please see attached for all details on PE clubs. All pupils are welcomed and encouraged to join.
From Monday we are continuing to implement our homework policy, this has been shared with pupils this week. For full details please read the attached. We recognise and understand the importance and benefits of homework for your child and their long term academic development.
You would have also been aware that on Friday 10th November the academy came together for a 2 minute silence, please do take a moment to read all about it here. We have also published a video on our social media platforms.
As we continue to move into the winter season a reminder to ensure your child has a suitable coat for school. Hoodies will be confiscated and are not permitted on the academy site.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming pupils back to the academy on Monday morning.
Regards
Jon Richardson
Principal
