Principal's Message

Mr Jon Richardson - Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this letter finds you well. As we come to the end of the first week back at Strood Academy, I am pleased to share with you some highlights and important information.

This week, we welcomed our pupils back with great excitement. I am delighted to inform you that our pupils' uniform standards have been excellent. The addition of rucksacks and chromebook sleeves has been noted, and your support in ensuring our students are well-equipped is greatly appreciated.

Our Year 7 pupils have seamlessly settled into academy life, forging new friendships, meeting their teachers, and embracing their new surroundings. Similarly, our Year 12 pupils have enjoyed their increased independence, exploring a range of specialist subjects, and nurturing their relationships with our staff. We have also had the pleasure of welcoming external pupils from neighbouring schools to our academy.

Additionally, the launch of our Post 16 football academy with Mr Midson has been a success. The team has been introduced, and preparations, including daily training sessions starting next week, are well underway.

We recently hosted an informative evening for Year 7 parents to introduce our IB MYP curriculum. Thank you to those who attended. Next Thursday, we will distribute chromebooks, and on Wednesday, 19th September, we invite you to our 'Meet the Tutor' evening, designed to support our Year 7 pupils in settling swiftly into academy life. If you have purchased a locker via ParentPay, rest assured that your locker key will be issued shortly.

This week, I had the privilege of delivering assemblies to all pupils, where I highlighted some of our achievements from the previous year as part of Vision 2028, including our record breaking GCSE results.

For any enquiries, do not hesitate to contact us through our website's "Contact Us" page, where you can find college email addresses, book a parent drop-in, or request a call back.

As we conclude this busy week, I wish you a restful weekend in readiness for another exciting week ahead. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back on Monday, from 8 am. Please note that the main gate closes promptly at 8:30 am.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in making Strood Academy a thriving and inclusive learning environment.

Warm regards,

Mr Jon Richardson
Principal

As we enter the new academic year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:

We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way. We look forward to our second year of Vision 2028 and cannot wait to celebrate all we will achieve.
