Week 1
Module 4 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your continued support.
I am pleased to report that our pupils have settled back into their routines with remarkable ease this week. It has been a pleasure to visit lessons and observe excellent engagement, high-quality work within their books, and outstanding teaching. It has been an excellent week at the academy.
This week, we welcomed Bligh Junior School once again for our outreach programmes, as well as our transition sessions in mathematics for Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6. Should you wish to share this information with family and friends, further details can be found at the following link: Transition Sessions Information.
We have also commenced our Year 9 community projects this module within our Personal Development lessons. We look forward to collaborating with our pupils as they develop and implement their creative ideas to support our wider community. This initiative is a true highlight of the IB Middle Years Programme, and we eagerly anticipate inviting parents to our graduation in Module 6.
Our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils are currently engaged in mock examinations, and I commend them on an excellent first week, with another week to go. Well done to all involved.
Next week, we are excited to host the Leigh Academies Trust Rugby Event. It is always a pleasure to welcome colleagues and pupils from across the Trust to Strood.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Sending best wishes for a restful weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson
Principal
Leigh Academy Strood
Tip: After your child finishes a task, ask them to spot one thing they did well and one thing they could improve.
This simple reflection helps them understand their learning and grow more confident.
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, and the Highest Reward Points across different year groups.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
