Week 6
Module 2 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your continued support. This week has once again been filled with a variety of activities at Leigh Academy Strood, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students and staff.
We have conducted further reading age impact tests for pupils, and Year 11 hospitality and catering practical examinations have taken place. Additionally, we hosted a finance talk by Julian Jessop, a Performing Arts trip to a theatre in London, a Year 11 mock results afternoon, and a Year 13 parents’ evening, alongside a Year 13 criminology assessment. As always, our students have also participated in various sporting fixtures.
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited about a range of activities, including a Think Forward trip on Monday, a special Christmas reward for our Young Carers, and our Parent Forum taking place at 6pm on Tuesday. Year 11 hospitality pupils will continue with further practical assessments, while Year 13 students will proceed with their criminology assessments. We also have our Winter Showcase scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm.
Next Friday, we look forward to celebrating with pupils during their college reward assemblies, which are always a special event. I would like to remind all parents that we conclude the module next Friday at 1:30pm. We will return for Module 3 on Tuesday, 6th January, with the main gates opening at 8am.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson
Principal
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, the Highest Reward Points across different year groups, and the MYP Thinker Award.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
