Dear Parents and Carers,

I am pleased to share that it has been another fantastic week at Leigh Academy Strood, filled with sporting successes and excellent lessons. I would like to take this opportunity to commend our pupils for their hard work and dedication.

As the temperature has dropped this week, please remind your child to bring a coat to school to ensure they stay warm while travelling to and from the academy. 

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our CEO, Simon Beamish, and Academies Director, Emma Elwin, along with another leader from a local Leigh Academies Trust school. It was excellent to showcase our recent successes, and our pupils were, as always, a credit to our academy.

On Monday, we welcomed the Vice Chair of the Leigh Academies Trust, who visited lessons and met with our pupils. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, and it is always a pleasure to host guests at our academy. 

Additionally, we have been showcasing our fantastic work in Literacy, and on Thursday, we welcomed colleagues from Snowfields Academy to observe our excellent intervention programmes. It was wonderful for our pupils to demonstrate their achievements within this support programme.

Our outreach programmes continue to go from strength to strength. On Wednesday, we welcomed pupils from Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 to join us for Performing Arts, with next week’s focus being on IT.

Furthermore, our pupils are excelling across a variety of sports, including Netball, Cross Country, and Football. We are delighted by the opportunities our pupils have to represent our teams.
