Week 1
Module 2 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Module 2.
I am pleased to inform you that our pupils have settled exceptionally well and have embraced routine and learning once again. It has been a delight visiting lessons this week and observing our pupils fully engaged in their studies. Equally gratifying is the sight of our pupils participating in enrichment activities, including the clubs available during lunchtime and after school.
This week, we held assemblies in preparation for Remembrance Day next week, and we look forward to observing a two-minute silence together as a whole academy on Tuesday at 11am. This is an important moment for us all, providing an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.
This week we additionally hosted a Think Forward trip to CC Cousins, along with a GCSE music trip to the Royal Festival Hall to enjoy a performance by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. We are aware of how much our pupils appreciate these enriching experiences, and we encourage their participation in future opportunities.
In the coming week, we have several exciting events planned. These include our continued Outreach programme in collaboration with Bligh Junior School, along with sessions for Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 children in Modern Foreign Languages on Wednesday afternoon from 4pm - 5pm. Furthermore, we invite you to attend our Year 12 Open Evening, taking place on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. We highly encourage your presence to explore the opportunities available for our students.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Best wishes,
Mr Jon Richardson
Principal
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award and the Highest Reward Points across different year groups.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
