Year 9 Music Academy

Course Description

This course is aimed at students who can already play a musical instrument or sing as the course is very practical based. Basic music theory skills are also an advantage but not required. In this course, boys also develop their musical literacy skills.

Topics covered: Solo and group performance • Aural and theoretical skills • Composition

Pre-requisite

If the student has been playing an instrument for more than 12 months - this is the option for you.

Assessment

Students are assessed on the above topics. Evidence for assessment is varied and includes performance, recorded music, workbook pages, documentation of process and development and self-reflection. Internally assessed.
