The St. Peter-Kasota Chapter of Dollars for Scholars is committed to providing SPHS graduates financial assistance so students in our community may further their education.
Your Dollars for Scholars Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm March 31, 2021. Transcript deadlines for counselors is April 2, so do not panic if your transcript is not submitted right away! We WILL submit these but we do them all at the end.
There are also several third-party scholarship opportunities and resources for students and families.

Scholarship Search Tips
Check the scholarship section of the schools you are applying to since many of these have scholarships for students.
Check parent/guardian workplaces and any clubs or organizations; often these groups offer scholarships.
Utilize the following search sites for scholarships:
RaiseMe is a free micro-scholarship platform where you can earn money for doing well in classes, visiting colleges, and participating in extra-curricular activities. You can begin earning scholarships as early as 9th grade.
The MSU Mankato PSEO/Concurrent Enrollment Scholarship provides money to those students who have successfully completed Minnesota State University, Mankato credits through either the PSEO program or Concurrent Enrollment (MSU courses at St. Peter High School), and enroll full-time at Minnesota State Mankato after high school graduation. The scholarship is renewable and will award a student $1,500 for two years. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and 75% completion rate to remain eligible for the scholarship after the first year.

St. Peter Fire Department – John Kennedy Memorial Scholarship – (1) $300 Award
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter High senior who will be attending any post secondary educational institution.
Application requires a 200-300 word narrative.
Thalia Lopez and Larry D. Taylor Educational Scholarship – (multiple awards)
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter senior pursuing a post-secondary degree, license or certification from a technical school, junior college or four-year degree from a college or university.
The Scholarship Committee shall give preference to eligible students of Mexican heritage and students of other ethnic or racial minorities. Other factors impacting selection include financial need, academic performance in high school, character, and the desire to make a change in their own future through education.
Application requires an essay about college/career plans and an activities/service/work résumé.
Andrew Kruger Memorial Scholarship – (1) $500 award
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter senior planning to enter a four-year college or university and pursuing a degree in an area working with youth.
Requires 300 word essay and list of activities, accomplishments and community involvement.
Raymond “Jim” & Dorothy L. Cain Scholarship - (1) $500 award
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter senior completing agriculture coursework and plans to pursue an agriculture related career at a college or university.
Application requires a personal essay.
Al & Cathy Annexstad, Hope & Inspiration Scholarship – (1) $5000 award, renewable 4 years
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter senior who demonstrates high moral character and a desire to excel in life. The student should have average or above average participation in school and community and demonstrate financial need as reported by FAFSA.
Requires two letters of recommendation, activity and work résumé, and a personal essay.
Elizabeth Meurer Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Saint Peter High School graduate pursuing post-secondary education.
The recipient should be a student that has done well academically and been involved in co-curricular activities during their high school career.
This scholarship is intended for a St. Peter senior planning to enter a two- or four-year college or university and pursuing a degree in an area working with youth.
Requires list of activities, accomplishments and community involvement and narrative about why you want the scholarship.
Applicants should play basketball and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
This scholarship is intended for a student planning to attend a post-secondary institution majoring in Agriculture, Mechanics, or Manufacturing
The student must have taken career and technical and/or agricultural courses and actively participated in the FFA Chapter or Trap Team while at St. Peter High School
American Legion Scholarship – (1) $1000 Award
This scholarship is intended for any St. Peter senior who will be attending a post-secondary education institution and planning to complete a minimum two-year degree.
Application requires a summary of school and community activities, employment history, and post-secondary plans. Students must also submit an essay titled, “The Importance of Patriotism to Me.”
