Language Arts

My name is Megan Everitt and I am the seventh-grade Language Arts teacher at St. Paul. Prior to moving to St. Paul, I taught sixth-grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Big Walnut Intermediate School for eight years. I started my teaching career in fifth-grade at Licking Heights in 2012 where I taught Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I have my Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University in Public Relations and Event Management, my Middle Childhood (4-9) Teacher Licensure in Language Arts and Social Studies from Notre Dame College, and my Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. I love sharing my passion for reading, writing, and social studies with my scholars. I'm a life-long learner and love sharing what I know with others in creative ways!

I live in Galena with my husband, Seth, and our three children, Dylan, Natalie, and Trenton. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling and exploring (especially the National Parks) with my family, working out, exploring new local restaurants, attending Broadway musicals, spending time with family and friends, gardening and reading. I love learning new things and I am always up for a new adventure!

My goal for this school year is to create a safe, caring, fun learning environment where each scholar receives the positive support and enrichment they need to be successful as an individual! My focus for this school year will be on the process, not the product. We will drive our learning through the 4Cs: communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. We will work together to truly understand the topics we are learning and to be able to incorporate what we’ve learned into real world situations and projects.

I have a feeling that it’s going to be a GREAT year!
