Hello and welcome to 4th grade!
My name is Kristy Bowman, and I am one of the 4th grade teachers. I graduated from John Carroll University in 2003 with my Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. I went on to earn my Middle Childhood teaching license in 2005 and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from Kent State University in 2007. I began my teaching career in 2005 and have taught 6th grade math and language arts, middle school library, preschool 2s and 3s, and K-8 technology. I also spent a number of years at home with my children when they were little. I have been teaching 4th grade for the past several years.
I am originally from Pittsburgh and have lived in Connecticut, Texas, and Ohio due to my husband’s job. We are happy to be in the Columbus area and love raising our family here. I live in Delaware with my husband, 3 children Maddie, Luke, and Allie who all attend St. Paul, and my golden retriever Baker. In my spare time, I can be found running my kids to swim team practice or taking Baker for a walk.
4th grade is such an exciting year! Students are at the age when they are becoming more independent learners while still needing that guidance and support. We will spend much of the year focusing on being organized, responsible, and motivated learners.
Here are some of the fun topics we will learn about this year…

Social Studies: Timelines and map skills, Early American history, Ohio history, government and civic participation, economy and financial literacy
