When my girls were in middle school I began teaching at St. Matthias School. I was the 6th grade teacher for all subjects except Science and Social Studies. I also taught 7th and 8th grade Math as well. Our students needed a summer school option, so I created one. I also served on a few other Diocesan committees including the Math Course of Study group.
Four years ago, I left the Diocese and worked in Gahanna - Jefferson schools for 2 years, then spent 2 years with Groveport-Madison Schools as a 5th grade teacher. These experiences were tremendous learning opportunities, but I felt the call back to Catholic schools. I am very excited to teach at St. Paul. I love to share my love of Math with students, and even though I do not have much experience teaching Science, there are so many ways to get involved in science and learn as we explore together.
Mr. Shook and I look forward to celebrating our 30th Anniversary this April. We live at home with our dogs Nelly (puggle), and Betty (chug). We do visit often with our girls, (Dr.) Taylor who was married last September and is beginning her residency at OSU in radiation/oncology while living in Cincinnati, and (Dr.) Brittany who was married at St. Paul in June and lives in Morgantown, West Virginia working on her residency in Psychiatry.
