Hello, my name is Carol Coye. I am a graduate of Bowling Green State University where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Education in Recreation and Leisure Studies. After college I started my career as a civilian doing Quality of Life programing with the U.S. Navy in Washington D.C. where I met my future husband. We were married in 2006 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio and soon after moved here to start our family.
I reside in Worthington with my Husband, 3 children and dog Luna. My oldest son, Hunter, attends St. Charles Prepatory School and my daughters, Brynn & Carolyn attend St. Michaels where we are active parishioners. In my free time I love to watch my kids swim and play sports. I am also a USA Swim official (AO) and am a novice face painting/glitter tattoo artist.
In 2020 I began my career in education at St. Matthias School in the Columbus Diocese. After 2 years working as an aide in Kindergarten I decided to obtain my substitute teaching license. From there I found myself in a long term sub position as an intervention specialist in the Worthington School District. The next year I took a position with Worthington as a Special Needs Assistant in elementary school in an SLC followed by a year in preschool in a Foundation Classroom. I am currently working on my alternative intervention license will be the Intervention Specialist for K-3 this year.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education should be inclusive, compassionate and responsive. Each students learns in their own way, and my role is to identify, nurture and adapt to the unique learning profiles while helping them reach their God given potential. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel safe, respected and empowered to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. I firmly believe in connections over content and that student behavior is a form of communication. I am honored and blessed to be a part of your child’s education at St. Paul School and look forward to meeting you.
