College & Career Resource Center (CCRC)

Here at Johnson Senior High School, the College & Career Resource Center, CCRC for short, serves as a space where students can find resources to help them navigate their journey into a career or into their college education. You can find lots of information regarding colleges, scholarships, FAFSA, Trade School, internships, current jobs, district career pathway opportunities, and the list goes on! 

In the CCRC, you can connect with either Mr. Billy (Career & College Readiness Coordinator) or Ms. Voigt (Work Based Learning Coordinator). The CCRC is located in room 1017, right next door to the Counseling office. 

Please take advantage of this CCRC Newsletter, which will be sent out to you on a bi-weekly basis!

Your college timeline!

In the months of September to November, college-seeking Seniors should be:

• Finalizing your interested college list and beginning the application process for these applications. For more college info, see this page HERE.

• Being mindful of COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE MONTH, which is in October; certain college applications are FREE to apply for this month!

• Requesting Letters of Recommendations if needed! See the Letters of Recommendation page HERE.

• Applying for scholarships based on deadlines! See the scholarships page HERE.

• Being mindful that the FAFSA opens on Oct 1st this year! If you'd like, you can go ahead and start working on your FAFSA. Sometime in October, Johnson will be hosting a Scholarship & FAFSA Night, so keep an eye out for more information on that coming soon. For more FAFSA info, see this page HERE.

• Registering to re-take the ACT test if you so desire to! Remember, currently most schools are test-optional, meaning they do not currently require you to submit your ACT score, however, I know some of you are interested in retaking the ACTs to see if you can do better and maybe qualify for more opportunities! • Apply for scholarships to help you pay for college! Learn more about scholarships HERE.

• Senior Welcome Survey - All Seniors!! Please make sure to complete this short survey so we know how to best help you be successful in planning for your life after high school! Find survey HERE.

• Make sure to keep an eye on your Schoology and/or Emails - We are constantly posting opportunities on both of these platforms and a lot of times, Seniors are missing these opportunities because they are not checking their schoology/emails. Try and make it a habit to keep an eye on these sites.
