Welcome to Fourth Grade

Meet Mrs. Jacobsen

My name is Hanna Jacobsen and I am so excited about fourth grade! I know we will have a fantastic year learning together in room 2202.

I started teaching at Horace Mann in 2021 as the library media specialist . This role gave me the wonderful opportunity of teaching your student over the past two years. Prior to Horace Mann, I taught at Maxfield Elementary School in Saint Paul and was also a classroom teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools.

When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family. My husband (Jon), daughter (Ella), and I live in South Minneapolis. We enjoy going on walks with our two dogs (Dylan and Charlie). On the weekends, you can probably find us on the trails at one of the state parks. We are an active family and also enjoy hiking, sailing, and kayaking.   Our two cats (Helen and Phyllis) love to cuddle and spend time in our garden. I grew up in California and my family still lives there. Jon, Ella and I try to make a trip out to the west coast a few times a year.

I really love to learn. I have a B.A. in Anthropology from UCLA and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University.
