The St. Max Bucket Drumming Club is open to students in grades 3-8. It is a percussion ensemble where students read, write, practice, rehearse and perform their own musical compositions. They read and write standard drum music notation that has been adapted to be played on a standard five gallon plastic bucket. Regular drumsticks and sticking technique are used. Through the placement of the stick and by tipping the bucket slightly with the foot one is able to produce three distinct tones; standard "snare", rim and bass tones.
The Bucket Drumming Club will be broken down into 3 Sessions this year. We Meet on Thursdays from 3:00 until 4:00
- Session 1 will run from October 11th through November 15th. With a performance on November 14th during Puttin on the Hits.
- Session 2 will run from February 7th through March 14th. Performance TBD
- Session 3 will run from April 18th through May 16th. Performance TBD
