From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to SPRING! Hopefully this bad weather will leave us soon. A big congratulations to Daniel Crognale who represented St. Max at the Archdiocese of Phila Honor Band on February 8 at Archbishop Wood. We would also like to congratulate Isabella Reagoso, Katherine Thomson and Renee Jonsson who will represent St. Max at the Philadelphia Area Honors Band on March 23 at Mary Magdalen in Wilmington Delaware.

A friendly reminder to send in your contribution to Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart to Mrs. Keenan by February 27th.

Planning is underway for the 2019-2020 school year. Please return your re-registration form if you have not already done so.

Respectfully,

Mrs. Malseed

Principal for the Day

by Maeve Stokes

On February 7, I was Principal for the Day. Some of the things I did were: I made the announcements on the loudspeaker. Then I sorted the mail. I walked around the school to say “ hi” to all the classes, I got to answer all their questions. I read the 2nd grades persuasive essays. After that 2 friends were invited to eat lunch with me,we got Pizza Peddler. It’s fun and busy at the same time.I’d certainly would do Principal for the Day again!

Principal for the Day

by Maddie Cohee

On February 19, I was Principal for Day. I ate lunch with my BFF’s Chloe, Ainsley and Kaylee. Mrs.Malseed and I walked around the whole school. I met all the grades. I saw that there is a new 4th grade student. I worked at Mrs. Malseed’s desk in her office. We checked the 2 grade essays and wrote replies on the back. Now I’m writing this. That is not all of it, there is a lot more. I think that today was a great day.

Irish Dance and Culture Camp

Grab your ghillies (or sneakers!) and come learn a jig! Irish Dance and Culture Camp will include an introduction into basic Irish dancing. Stay active this summer and learn individual and team dances and dance to both traditional and pop music! Camp will include arts and crafts projects, including tie-dyeing your own poodle socks! We will explore some tasty Irish treats (rolling your own Irish potatoes) and play fun games. Camp time is 9-12

Ceili Dance Camp

Come and learn a ceili! Ceili dances are traditional Irish team dances. This camp will teach students traditional ceili dances that can be seen performed around the world at Irish events and competitions. In addition to learning ceili dances, this camp will focus on team building skills. Campers will complete activities such as scavenger hunts, hula hoop challenges, and more to foster the skills required to work as a group! If the weather is nice, we will complete some outdoor water challenges! Camp time is 1-4. There will be an option to bring a packed lunch if participating in both camps.

Who: Any students aged 5 and up

When: 7/8/19-7/12/19 for ages 5-8 and 7/15/19-7/19/19 for ages 9+

Where: Rustin High School

Does my child need dance experience? Nope! This camp is open to both beginner Irish dancers and experienced Irish dancers!

My child already dances for an Irish dance school, is it okay for him/her to participate? Yes! We will not be doing “school specific” steps.

How do I sign my child up? Visit www.chestercountynightschool.org and click on the tab for “CHECK” Enrichment Program for Children on the left hand side.
