After the recent local Palisades fire, we observed how devastated our community was. Our favorite stores, gone: our school, gone: even some of our own houses, gone. Many houses built right over the water were also burned. We saw that much of the house's debris was unfortunately just getting washed into our ocean. Noticing this, it sparked interest, and we decided we wanted to learn more about what this could be doing to our coral. We hope that in doing this research, it helps bring to light what’s actually happening under the sea, and may inspire people to help keep our oceans clean.
