If you have worked on the Wisdom Quest program you recognize the models below that we use to help think and talk about wisdom and practical spirituality, which are pretty slippery topics.
The first model can help us understand the complex decision-making processes that we use to manage water resources, and why we often fail to make wise decisions. The second model illustrates the idea that natural systems have some sort of wisdom within them that has helped them survive for billions of years. We should align our wisdom with Earth's wisdom.
Water is fundamental to human existence.
The shape of Earth's surface (geomorphology) is largely a result of erosion, sedimentation, and glaciation -- all due to water.
Water is an essential part of photosynthesis, which produces the oxygen we breathe and is the source of all of our food and fossil energy.
Water is also integral to our deepest spiritual lives as humans.
