Course Outline:
This is a compulsory course for all Year 11 students. The programme is made up of TWO periods per week of Physical Activity (PA) and TWO periods per week of Step Up.
The Physical Activity Course is of a practical nature, in which students learn in, through and about movement and physical activity. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment in experiencing physical activity and the gaining of valuable interpersonal skills.

Course Costs:
Approximately $50 for Self Defence
The course leads to:
NCEA Level 2 Health Studies. NCEA Level 2 Physical Education.
Assessment
There is no assessment for these courses, however completion of both Physical Activity and the Step Up Programme, including the Be the Change Service project are all requirements of gaining the SMC Foundation Diploma.
