Course Outline:
As both a Science and Humanities based subject, Geography is a versatile course offering students broad knowledge and a range of essential academic and practical skills. This course investigates elements of our environment and the people who live within it. A variety of geography-specific skills, knowledge, and concepts are developed in depth throughout including the study of either coastal geomorphology or marine and cultural processes focussing on the Canterbury coastline. Students complete a field trip to local beaches as part of their study. Additionally, students will learn about global spatial patterns and contemporary geographic issues relating to people's interaction with their environments. Case studies will be chosen based on student preferences and experience in Geography.
A contemporary geographic issue and a global geographic topic will also be investigated.
