Course Outline:
This course offers students the opportunity to complete NCEA Level 2 through internally assessed standards, one paper in the external examination and an optional externally assessed standard. Students will explore and develop a range of skills that build on the Foundation Diploma’s key areas of learning. Throughout the course, students will explore the various ways in which language choices, text types, literary forms and contextual elements all affect meaning. This is a course for students who are interested in the study of a variety of text types such as film texts, short written literary texts, and non literary texts. There will be an opportunity for students to achieve the 10 Literacy credits required as one of the prerequisites for entry into university.
