Course Outline:
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the concepts and procedures across a range of product design and media areas. The concepts are researched and investigated and then refined and developed throughout the year. Products will be created using product design techniques from 3D printing, laser cutting through to digital forms, these may draw on the application of knowledge and skills from other curriculum areas.
This course gives students an opportunity to develop skills through a selected area of interest. Students will follow their own independent pathway so a high level of time management, organisational, communication and design skills are essential. Students are expected to work both individually and in groups as well as participating in extension activities and outside the classroom learning opportunities. Throughout the course there will be opportunities to work with practicing technologists in the field of Media and Design.
