The Young Knights of Frassati is a club for boys in 6th-8th grade. The club’s goal is to form a brotherhood of young men who support each other in the development of virtue. The club is named after Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, the young modern saint who loved adventure and camaraderie with his fellow peers. Meetings will consist of fellowship, games, sports, discussion, live music, guest speakers, and the learning of essential skills all young men should know. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Join us as we sharpen each other on our journey through life and become young knights of Frassati!
Pier Giorgio Frassati is the patron of this club because he is a young, relatable, modern saint. He loved hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, sailing, music, theatre, art, and fellowship with friends. He could be loud and boisterous or deafeningly reverent. He had a great sense of humor and a limitless love for God, the Church, his country, and his fellow man. Nicknamed "The Man of the Beatitudes," Pier Giorgio is an excellent role model for young men today.
Pier Giorgio's niece, Wanda Gawronska, is currently in her 90s. She says, "I won't die until Pier Giorgio is canonized a saint!"
After emailing her a group photo of the boys in the YKF club, she responded: "They look wonderful and so elegant!!! And there are so many. May Pier Giorgio help you and I am sure they will enjoy it. Give me occasionally some news."
Her life's work will come to fruition on September 7, 2025 when her Uncle Pier Giorgio will be canonized a saint!
