Hawai‘i CARES 988 is a partnership between the Hawai‘i State Department of Health (DOH) and community-based mental health and substance abuse service providers statewide.
Hawai‘i CARES 988 hires locally based staff who specialize in providing supportive counseling, screening for urgent or emergent mental health or substance use needs, and recommendations for behavioral health assessments, services, and crisis intervention

Crisis Text Line serves anyone in any type of crisis, providing access to free, 24/7 support and information via a medium people already use and trust: text. A live, trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached at 1-800-273-8255 (TALK). Services are also provided for Covid-19, Native Americans, Youth, LGBTQ+, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Loss Survivors, Attempt Survivors, and more.

Kids Hurt Too Hawaii offers a free and safe place for children & youth with grief and trauma, ages 3 – 19, as well as support for their caregivers.
