St. Frances of Rome Church
Coming Soon: Interior Church Plaster Repairs & Painting
Beginning Wednesday, April 7th the St. Frances of Rome church interior will undergo major interior repairs and renovations. The interior plaster has developed some significant cracks and it needs to be repaired and repainted. This process will take approximately 4-5 weeks to complete. The interior decor will not be changed and the church will maintain its current aesthetic. In order to complete this project in a timely manner, the church will be closed so scaffolding can be put up and remain up throughout this process. The church closure will allow for the work to be completed in a timely manner and allow the workers to proceed without adjusting to liturgy schedules.
Fr. Lou and the St. Frances of Rome Parish Council felt that a project of this scope would best be completed while the church is still under the Covid-19 seating restrictions. The goal is to complete these projects before the church seating limitations are lifted. All St. Frances of Rome liturgies will be held at St. Leonard's church at 440 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, until this project is completed. The St. Frances of Rome's weekday and Sunday liturgy schedule dovetails very easily with St. Leonard's liturgy schedule and will prevent significant adjustments. Both parishes' liturgy times and ministers' schedules for each parish will remain the same. Liturgical minister(s) training will be provided and details will follow. Project progress reports will be available throughout the project via the electronic parish newsletter and in the weekly print bulletin. Contact your parish office of you have specific questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding, patience and support of this endeavor.
St. Frances of Rome Church is an exquisite treasured pearl and these renovations will maintain her beauty for future generations.
-Sharon Coonan, SFR Pastoral Associate

Faith Formation Updates
Teen Gatherings during Lent: March 21 and 28, 4 - 5:30 pm
The teenagers at our parishes have asked to gather in person this Lent, and we’ve decided we can do it!
On the 21st and 28th, we’re going to get together (physically distanced and hopefully outdoors) and… let the kids decide what we should do! We’ll have a number of resources for human, spiritual, and intellectual exploration on the table, but most of all, we want to just give our teens a chance to see each other and share.
Our next meeting is this Sunday, March 21 at St. Frances of Rome’s Courtyard (or Reception Hall, if the weather doesn't cooperate) at 4 pm and hang out until about 5:30. On March 28th, we'll gather at the same time but at St. Leonard. Get in touch with Andrew for details.

Leonard Ladies Lenten Journey: Imagine
Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 24 at 7:15 pm via Zoom
The next meeting of the Leonard Ladies series Imagine will take place on Wednesday, March 24 at 7:15 pm via Zoom. Our discussion this week will be based on “Episode 8 - The Way of the Cross” of the podcast Imagine: A Guide to Jesuit Prayer. After you listen and pray with this episode, we encourage you to ponder the following questions:
As you imagine the events of Jesus' crucifixion, what words, images, emotions, or other details stand out in your prayer?
Imagine experiencing these scenes from the point-of-view of Mary: how does her perspective resonate with your heart? Are you drawn to the point-of-view of other characters? What stands out to you?
How do you perceive that Jesus is speaking to you through this prayer experience?
This link will take you directly to this podcast episode on the America website. You can also access additional reflection resources here!

Lent 2021: TRYING NEW FOODS IN TIMOR-LESTE
Timor-Leste has the highest rate of child malnutrition in Asia, and many children suffer from stunting, which makes a big impact on a child’s growth and future. Home gardens and fishponds are helping families provide better nutrition for their children. What do you eat to stay healthy? What can you do to ensure children have enough food to thrive? STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” John 12:24
We should never be afraid to give of ourselves. The Gospel assures us that we will be rewarded. Saint Teresa of Calcutta is purported to have said, “We can only take to Heaven, that which we give away on earth.”
