Conie Borchardt
Conie Borchardt (she/they) is a mixed asian Public Heart Artist and a Cultural Catalyst. They weave the skills of a spiritual companion and vocal coach, the curiosity of a student to transformative change, and the offerings of ancient communal practices of singing and moving together into storytelling spaces and meditation rituals to co-create communities of care. Currently the Executive Director for Music that Makes Community, an organization that promotes practices of communal song-sharing and brave leadership, Conie has also been the recipient of a three thirty-one space artist residency (Rosy Simas), a Creative Community Leadership Institute fellowship (Intermedia Arts), and the Mni’sota Rural-Urban Exchange cohort. Born before the internet to new and old immigrant farmers from Asia and Europe on the rural plains tended first by the Dakota peoples, they now live near B’dote, the confluence of the Mni’sota and Misi-ziibi Rivers, the settler city of St. Paul, Minnesota.
