First Class

In first class, we like to spend time reading our favourite books from the library. We love fairytales! We choose a class book every week and we like to write about the different characters and settings of the story. We love to make story maps to help us remember the story too. We also have team-teaching every day and are doing Literacy Lift-off which is like a power hour of English every day. This is helping us to read & write even better. We love having different teachers in to help us with our reading and writing too. Sometimes we even get to use the iPads to help us! We perform on stage for Seachtain na Gaeilge, have swimming lessons in the Mall for four weeks & Ciarán from Slashers coaches us in hurling & camóige. As part of our SESE we explore jobs in the community & take trips to one of them. First Class is really fun!
