Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Hello! My name is Katie Warpinski and I am your child’s computer teacher. I’m excited to continue working with your child on their computer skills. I can’t wait to see the technology abilities grow in your child.
I would like to take some time to tell you a little about myself. I’ve been working for St. John the Baptist since 2014. I started working in Extended Care in the afternoons. In 2016, I accepted the position in the computer lab. I have always loved computers and technology since I was a child. In middle school, I started computer programming in my study hall to pass the time with an old Macintosh computer. From there, I’ve self taught myself web design, photo editing and many of the Google apps. Since I was a child I have loved learning new things and teaching others. I spent time working as a student assistant in both high school and college. In these positions I learned about being a teacher from behind the scenes. I also co-taught elementary students with Junior Achievement in college. I step out of the work force when my children were born and didn’t return until I was accepted for the position at SJB.
Speaking of my family, I have two children, Bella and Max. Bella is in 5th grade and Max is in 1st grade right here at SJB. I grew up in Watertown, Wi and moved to southwest Wisconsin when I got married. Many of you know that my husband passed away from cancer in 2016. We moved to Lake Mills to be closer to family in 2014. When I’m not at school, I spend time with the many animals on my farmette along with hanging out with my family and friends.
Communication is one of the most important things when it comes to having a strong relationship between school and home. It is the collaboration of students, parents, and teachers that can produce the absolute best learning environment for the students themselves. Please feel free to contact me via email (email@example.com) or through the school’s phone system.
I have created a webpage to help the students with our lessons this year. I also invite you to check it out as it gives links to the websites we will use in class along with some of the major ideas that will be taught: https://sites.google.com/stjohnbaptist.net/mskatie/You may also find the link from the Staff directory page on the school website: stjohnbaptist.net If you have any questions, please let me know! Please be aware that my contact hours for all forms of communication will be from 7:30AM-3:30PM on school days.
I’m so excited about this year. Thank you for the chance to teach your child(ren). Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. I’d love to hear from you.
