"Feel the rhythm. Feel the rhyme. Get on up, it's BADMINTON time!"
3rd - 8th grade are now beginning our BADMINTON unit!Students will go through different skills that are used in The Game of Badminton. They will learn different serves and shot names and how/why they are used. Along with the rules of the game they will also try and learn strategy. Students will play in multiple singles and doubles games in tournament style play. Middle school students will also be assessed on this unit, details to come.
Are you up for the challenge? Students will have the ability to challenge other students throughout the unit as well as challenge Mr. D! Any student that can beat Mr. D one on one to a game of 15 points (winning by 2) will receive a 100% for the unit. Good Luck
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade -- Striking round 2!Our next unit for Pre-K through 2nd is a continuation of our striking skills. We performed this earlier in the year with golf clubs and golf balls. We have moved on to tennis balls and rackets that mimic a racket used in the sport of pickleball. We will be striking the ball off of a bounce in a stand still, while coming towards us off a wall, and with other students hitting towards us. We will introduce hitting it over a net towards the end of the unit as well.
