Mrs. Kathleen Smith (formerly Kathleen Kasun)
Elizabethtown College- 2012
Notre Dame of Maryland University-2017
I have long-term substituted in both fourth and first grade in Cecil County Public Schools, as well as, St. Pius X School. I have also had multiple educational placements throughout my college career including second grade and third grade. I have been teaching third grade at St. Joan of Arc for the past five years.
I have lived in Bel Air my entire life. I attended St. Margaret Middle School, as well as, Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson. In addition, I attended Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and graduated in May 2012 with a degree in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Furthermore, I recently received a Masters in Leadership in Special Education- Exceptionalities from Notre Dame of Maryland University. I recently bought a house in Bel Air with my husband, after living in Pennsylvania for a brief time. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, boating, exercising, spending time with my family and friends, and watching the Orioles and the Ravens!
I believe in a positive learning environment dedicated to cooperation and individualized success. My hope is for students to grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. In addition, parental involvement and open communication with parents is extremely important to me; therefore there will be class emails, newsletters, and chaperoning available!
I look forward to a great year together!
