PE/Health & Second Grade SIPPS
Ms. Megan Blackburn
Education: Currently I am a full time student finishing my B.S. degree, a Minor in Psychology and Major in Elementary Education. I hold my Pre-School Teaching Certification from HCC 2001. USAG gymnastics certification from USA gymnastics 2013. I am also CPR certified and first aid certified since 2009.
Experience: I have over 11 years of teaching experience in a classroom and in the gymnastics community. I began teaching pre- school at the Montessori School in Baltimore County. I also was the first teacher to start our PREP program. (This is our preschool educational program at the Harford Gymnastics Training Center). As well, I taught at the Saint Margaret school in Bel Air teaching six grade religion and the youth minister for the middle school campus.
As well as teaching PE and Health, I will be joining forces with 2nd grade this year and will be teaching the SIPPS program. I am so excited to work with these students on gaining a new found confidence with their reading.
Bio: I am very excited to be apart of the Saint Joan of Arc school. This is my fourth year teaching. I have 5 children! Two ninth graders, 7th grade, 6th grade and 4th grade. We also have two puppies who are brother and sister, named BO and Luna- Mae. We are a very active and a happy family. Our schedules are very busy and I need to be very organized for our success.
My goal is to provide a energetic and positive environment for all grades and personal levels. I feel that a healthy, confident performance in physical activities compliments a confident approach in the class room - and we will have some fun along the way! I am a former competitive gymnast, field hockey and lax player. I understand the balance children need physically/ mentally /academically / spiritually/ to thrive in all settings. I have every confidence I can contribute to the continuing Catholic education of your children and that your children will look forward to coming to my class. Please feel free to contact me:
