St. Joan of Arc Middle School

Welcome to Middle School!

Recognizing that students need encouragement and support as they make the challenging transition from elementary classwork to secondary classwork, teachers seek to form our youth intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Teachers collaborate to give updates on student progress, discuss problems and challenges, probe opportunities for interdisciplinary connections and explore current educational theory to better serve our youth. During a typical day, students move from classroom to classroom for specialized instruction. Students move about in an environment where love of learning is a key ingredient in a strong academic program. Our high expectations challenge students and help them know they can succeed.

As a STEM school, we explore and utilize opportunities to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math. Students can participate in the SJA News Network/Tech Team, STEM Club, Nature Club & SeaPerch. Students utilize Chromebooks, BenQ Boards, and other forms of technology. Students use interactive programs such as Google Classroom, IXL, Delta Math, Nearpod, TinkerCAD, Code.org and more to enhance classroom instruction.
