I new early on that my calling was to work with children. I chose to go into teaching not only to educate, but to inspire young people. I have taught in many different settings and grades throughout New Mexico from Pre-K through 6th grade. After teaching 2nd grade for several years at a Title I school I decided to take time off to stay at home and raise my two boys. As my boys got older I volunteered my time at their schools helping the teachers out in their classrooms. For the last two and a half years I have volunteered my time at The Highlands School in their Library and other areas of need. I am excited to start my teaching career again at St. Joan of Arc School as the Librarian Teacher. I hope to instill a love of reading in your child so that they will become independent lifelong readers.
I grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico with beautiful mountains, amazing sunsets and fantastic Mexican food. I met my husband at New Mexico State University while swing dancing. We have two boys who keep us very busy. We moved to Maryland in 2013 and truly love living here.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, biking and going to museums with my family. Whenever we get an opportunity, my husband and I will swing dance at the Bel Air Armory and at the Bel Air High School's Annual Jazz Band Swing Dance Concert.
