Mrs. McGuire's Spanish Class
Hola, My name is Kristin McGuire and I am the Spanish teacher for Pre-K through 8th grade. I am very excited to share my knowledge of Spanish with your child and to discover what Spanish they may already know! I hope that your child enjoys learning Spanish this year. My education background includes a B.A. from Immaculata University with certification in Spanish and Elementary Education. I also received a Master of Arts in Spanish from Millersville University. In addition to my studies, I traveled to Spain, Venezuela, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic to practice my Spanish and to experience the culture firsthand.
For the preschool and kindergarten students, we will sing songs, learn prayers and play games in Spanish to practice vocabulary and pronunciation. Our goal will be to listen to Spanish and speak in small sentences.
For grades 1-8, my goal is to help your children speak, listen, read and write in Spanish. The students will also practice Catholic prayers in Spanish and learn about saints from Spanish-speaking countries. We will try to speak as much Spanish as possible in the classroom. We will also learn about Spanish and Latin American culture.
