About NJHS
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. To qualify for membership a student must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 and exemplify the qualities listed above.
Students in the Stillwater Middle School chapter of NJHS are required to earn at least 18 hours of volunteer service hours per school year. Six of these hours must be within the school district, six hours must be within the community, and the remaining six hours can fall into either category.
