Welcome to a new year of school and a new year of PTA.

If this is your first year at Stillwater Middle School, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to each of you. If you are a seasoned SMS family, we know that you are as excited as we are to be starting the school year up again. Whether a new PTA member or a returning member, we thank you for your contributions, time, and commitment to our organization, our teachers, and most importantly, our students! As a member of the SMS PTA, you are a voice for our kids and part of the largest child advocacy program in the world. It really is a rewarding experience!

We look forward to continuing the working partnership we have established with our amazing principal, Eric VanScoy and our wonderful teachers and staff. We will continue to provide an excellent learning experience for our children with the support of our members. We encourage each and every one of you to become a part of our team!

Our Mission

Our mission of the PTA - to positively impact the lives of children and families. Together at Stillwater Middle School, we support this mission through our wide-ranging efforts by supporting school and district programs, supporting the school community through family events, and giving direct help to the teachers and staff at SMS.

You can support the SMS PTA by:

  • Join the PTA - By becoming a member you will receive voting rights at PTA meetings and help support our mission.

  • Volunteering - Share your talents with our school. By getting involved, you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive change.

  • Donating - Provide resources and time needed for our school events.

Unity Week is October 19 - 23, 2020

Get involved to PREVENT BULLYING and PROMOTE KINDESS, ACCEPTANCE and INCLUSION in our schools, communities and online. Wear orange to show your support, especially on Wednesday, October 21 (Unity Day).

The PTA is hosting a Unity Day Design Contest.

Calling for all SMS students to design a mask, chalk drawing on your driveway/sidewalk, or other “free form” creation that shows what it means to be intentional with acts of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Don’t forget to include the Unity Day color (ORANGE) into your design.

Submit a picture of your creation to the SMS PTA email address: smspta55082@gmail.com during the week of October 19 – 23 for a chance to win great prizes. Your email should include “Unity Day – Grade X” (either 6, 7, 8 or GATE 4 or 5) as the subject line, your name (first and last) and a comment about your inspiration for the design and hope for Unity Day. Winners will be announced on October 30.

Note that any entries submitted may be displayed on the SMS or PTA social media sites and may also be published in the 2020-21 yearbook. Good luck, be kind and have fun!
