The Technology curriculum is aligned with national technology standards outlined by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) and CSTA (Computer Science Teachers Association). Technology is not only taught as a separate strand but is embedded into our curriculum. This will help students with researching, demonstrating creative thinking, constructing knowledge and collaborating on work. Students will then use digital tools and resources to present their understanding.
Classes are being revised from teaching basic computer skills that will be folded into the classroom curriculum and focusing more on current technology topics such as coding, media literacy, animation and video production.
The ISTE Standards for Students describe the skills and knowledge they need to learn effectively and live productively in an increasingly global and digital society.
