Year group focus - Foundation

Yesterday, children in Foundation participated in Nursery Rhyme Challenge Day. They learnt lots of nursery rhymes along with actions. They all did absolutely amazing! We would also like to say a massive thank you to parents and their families/friends of Foundation children who sponsored the children. The money raised will be for new reading resources.

Year group focus - Year 3

As part of our work on Hinduism in RE, we have learnt about Diwali. We have made our own clay Diva lamps.

Year 3 have been looking at the book 'Man on the Moon' by Simon Bartram in English and they have written some diaries about Bob's day!

Year group focus - Year 4

As part of Anti-Bullying Week and the focus around 'one kind word', we have been doing a kindness challenge. Every day we are aiming to carry out an act of kindness. Here some of the children are talking about their ideas for the challenge and how others have been kind to them.

On Monday 15th November, we had odd sock day to launch Anti-Bullying Week. This was done to celebrate everyone's individuality and being unique. Here is a picture of some of our odd socks.

E-Safety and safeguarding

Well being and community

This week we have been celebrating Anti-Bullying Week and looking at the message 'one kind word'. We have had an assembly about this and we have had sessions in class about it.

Today has been non-uniform and pyjama day to raise money for BBC Children in Need. Thank you to everyone for their effort and donations!

Road Safety Week

Next week we will be focusing on road safety as part of Road Safety Week. Year 5 and 6 have chosen four Junior Road Safety Officers: Morgan, Anabella, Reece and Layla. Working in partnership with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, this year they will be coordinating some exciting events and activities for the children to join in throughout the school year. They will run whole school assemblies on a variety of road safety themes e.g. pedestrian safety, being seen at night, in- car safety and safe places to cross roads.

We continue to be concerned about the number of cars parking on the zig zag lines so the JRSOs will be working with school council to help deal with this problem.

PACT meeting

On Wednesday 17th November we held our first PACT meeting. Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting or indicated that they would like to support the Parent and Community Team.

We had a really useful meeting and shared lots of fundraising ideas that we hope to be able to put in place in the coming months such as an Easter Bonnet Competition, a chocolate raffle and the Summer Fayre!

Look out for details for the next meeting if you think you could help out- many hands make light work!
